Free light globe disposal

09 Feb, 2012 01:39 PM
RESIDENTS can recycle their fluorescent tubes and energy-saving light globes for free as part of the council's light globe recycling program.

Fluorescent bulbs and energy-saving globes contain mercury, which can be harmful to people and the environment if not disposed of properly.

A recycling station has been set up in the foyer of the civic centre, where residents can also recycle mobile phones, printer cartridges, household batteries, CDs and DVDs.

There are also drop-off points at Bunnings Warehouse on Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing, the Little River service station and Werribee tip.
