STUDENTS have been assured that Galvin Park Secondary College will be clean and safe when they return to school next week.
Years 7 and 12 students will start school on Monday, while those in years 8-11 return the next day.
The education department has brought in relocatable classrooms to replace buildings deemed unsafe following last year's storm damage.
Carpets, floorings and ceilings have also been replaced to remove any health risks to students and teachers.
A department spokesman said that while the school's science and arts wings would not be open, relocatable classrooms would allow the teaching to continue.
Parent Margo McLaren said she was surprised the school was going to be ready for students given the state it was in just three weeks ago.
But she was happy the school appeared to be heading in the right direction.
"There is a little hint of nerves [about sending my son back there] but it is looking quite positive given what we have been through. I wasn't sure it would open," she said.
"It is looking good and the new buildings are in. Now we just need the complete rebuild."
