Triplets' tears to flow as separation looms

01 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
TRIPLETS Taylah, Kalan and Brooke Rose will go their separate ways on Friday when they start prep at Thomas Chirnside Primary School.

Taylah, Brooke and Kalan, 5, have been placed in different classes at the request of parents Mark and Anthea, who want their youngest children to find their independence.

Mrs Rose says it was important to her that the children were in different classes because she didn't want

them to become known as "the triplets".

"I want them to get to know their own names," she says.

"I want to see them get their independence and get new friends."

Mrs Rose says all three are looking forward to joining their older brother Ben, 7, at school.

She says they are excited about what they will learn, with Kalan hoping that starting school will mean plenty of birthday parties. While Mr Rose is certain Taylah, Kalan and Brooke are more than ready for school, he doesn't doubt there will be tears on Friday. "It is a big step and I don't think they fully comprehend what's happening," he says.

"This is a massive milestone for us as a family. I think [Taylah, Brooke and Kalan] will cope well once they get over that initial realisation that mum and dad have gone home and they are at school."
