Wyndham festival to factor in talent quest

09 Feb, 2012 01:37 PM
BUDDING singers, dancers and musicians are being called on to audition for Wyndham's own talent competition.

The youth talent quest, 'The W Factor', will be held in the lead-up to the Weerama Festival on March 3-4 and is being organised by the Youth Resource Centre and the festival committee.

Heats will be held at the centre in Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing, on February 24-25 with the top 18 performers going through to the final on March 4.

Entrants can choose to perform a musical or dance number on their own or as part of a group. It's open to 12-25 year olds living, working or studying in Wyndham and will be divided into the age groups 12-17 and 18-25.

The overall winner will receive $1000 and the age group winners $500 each. Applications close this Friday at 6pm.

Forms are available from the centre or weerama.org.au
