GDNL: Werribee Centrals crash

08 Sep, 2010 01:00 AM
WERRIBEE Centrals' grand final dream is in tatters.

The Centurions bowed out of the Geelong and District Netball League finals in straight sets after a shock 38-32 defeat to Bell Post Hill in the preliminary final on Saturday.

The Centurions got off to a flying start with player-coach Danni Stewart and Emma Ward controlling proceedings in the centre court. The early five goal lead by built goal shooter Mickayla Ward and goal attack Jenni Gardner had almost evaporated as Bell Post Hill edged to within two goals at half-time. The second half was one to forget for the Centurions. They could only manage eight goals as Bell Post Hill turned it up to record a six-goal win.
