WERRIBEE Amateurs captain Nathan Addamo would love nothing more than to be standing on the podium holding aloft the Victorian Amateur Football Association division 1 premiership on Saturday.
The men-for-all-seasons Tigers will meet the Monash Blues in the season decider at St Bernard's College Oval in West Essendon on Saturday.
The Tigers go in as raging hot favourites, having lost just once during the home-and-away rounds and sealing automatic promotion with a 10-point win over the Blues in the second semi-final.
But the four quarters in front of both sides will be like no other. The teams start even and it comes down to the day.
That is why the Tigers are trying so hard to "keep a lid on it".
"Everyone is confident," Addamo said. "If we play our own game and get our structures right, hopefully we'll come away with a win."
The Tigers are "pumped up" and enter the grand final fresh after a football-free weekend.
The Blues have three powerhouse forwards who will pose a serious threat. The men entrusted with the task of nullifying them are Addamo, Daniel Pelar and Darren Morrish.
The Tigers go in with pretty much a full-strength team.
The first bounce is at 2.15pm.
